Anita Huber's quilt, Boudinet Clan, won 1st Place in the category Large Wall Quilts - 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Contest.

Our question, "How did she get it to fit?" got answered in the video below. We were particularly interested in how she pieced that ring of diamonds.

The quilting on this quilt is a combination of Free-Motion and Computer-aided. The black color hides the quilting, so be sure to look at the close up and the video to see the movement and designs.

A beloved American Idol winner recently celebrated her 36th birthday with a quilting-themed cake from the Big Sugar Bakeshop. She also completed her first quilt for her child's birthday. Did you guess who it was? It's Kelly Clarkson!

Flower Basket, 68" x 78", is based on a pattern by Sue Nickels. The quality of the work by Joyce Hite and Patricia Hechler is fantastic. Techniques used include Fused Appliqué, Machine Appliqué, and Machine Piecing. The quilting uses both Free-Motion Quilting and Computer Assisted Stitch Software to achieve an outstanding design and effect. Plus, we really love the feel and fun of the border.

The border must have been a problem as Joyce has said, "This was the first time that I made a double-scallop edge treatment, which I will never again attempt until pigs fly!"

Take a look.

Convergence in Wonderland was created by Katie coloring a Mandala and then cutting it up, because as she says, "That's what I do."
