Quilters Select Non-slip Rulers are now available in 2.5", 3.5", and 4.5" sizes - buy them together and save!

Use them for squaring up, fussy cutting, working with small pieces, or to carry in your purse for measuring on-the-go.

These smaller sizes make it so much easier to work with small pieces, no more wrangling a big ruler on a little piece of fabric.

Beloved by all who try them, Quilters Select rulers are considered by fans to be the best available for two critical reasons:

  • Each ruler has a unique non-slip coating that keeps it in place as you cut, even on slippery or silky fabrics. No more wandering cuts!
  • Each ruler also has two sets of corresponding measurement numbers around the perimeter of the ruler - one that reads left to right, and one that reads right to left. This keeps you from doing that "thing" where you try to hold your fabric in place with one hand while you position the ruler with the other, only to realize that the ruler is backwards and you have to turn it around and realign everything!

When you think of a Cathedral Window quilt, you might think of something more traditional in style. Felisa Nakazawa's quilt, Optical Path Cathedral Window, may draw inspiration from tradition, but the color, layout, and design place it in the modern realm.

Optical Path Cathedral Window was on display at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah Spring 2019 as part of the Wall Quilts - Modern category.

Here is the Best of Show Winner at the AQS show in Grand Rapids, Michigan 2012.

It is Maritime in Red by Ann Helbling and Clem Buzick, Kindred, ND

Alex loved how they alternated the white and the beige in this Judy Martin design.

You can learn more about Judy in Show 2411.

Who breaths, lives, and drives her art??? Kathy Deggendorfer! A local Sisters gal whose family has a long history with the state of Oregon. She has taken many different paths in her life, but art is where her heart is and she has a very unique interpretation of the world around her. I love her artwork because you cannot help but smile when you see it on display.

She is not only an artist, but a rancher, champion of the environment, supporter of art, music, and sustainable living. And this year she is the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show Poster artist! Posters and tee shirts can be ordered from The Stitchin' Post

Her poster is like a beautiful quilt, and lucky for us Kathy and Maywood Studio have created a line of fabrics pulling elements from her amazing painting! You will be able to find this line of fabric at The Stitchin' Post. Called Quiltlandia, it covers the land from farm to mountain peaks and travels through the city. It includes a panel with wonderful views of our world in Oregon...or wherever you want to imagine it being. There is also a selection of complementary prints.

Oh...about that statement that she drives her art...well, take a look!! LOL, her car is a rolling billboard for one of the prints, A Bevy of Roses.

We hope you are making plans to come visit us for the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show the 2nd Saturday in July!!!

Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies.

~Even a Beginner Can Make this in an Evening~

Creating a fresh new look when sewing menswear can be as simple as making a new tie. With a dash of fun fabric and a couple hours, you can make a dapper tie for the guy you know. The key to a good necktie is a soft fabric, cut on the bias, and some good structure for support.

You only need 1 yard of fabric and 1 yard of interfacing fabric.

For Love of Ornament (62" x 66") was hand appliquéd and hand quilted by Zena Thorpe.
Design Basis: Ornamentation Sampler

Artist Statement:
The quilt was inspired by Owen Jones' design classic "The Grammar of Ornament" which he published in 1856. Owen Jones collected thousands of examples of ornamentation from all over the world. I have adapted for appliqué, a very small sampling of those designs.

For Love of Ornament was on display at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah Spring 2019 and won 2nd Place Other - Wall at Road To California 2019 and 2nd Place Traditional at PIQF 2018.

Have you heard about this fun and whimsical group called the Ladies Fancywork Society? Here's what they say about themselves:

"The Ladies Fancywork Society has been terrorizing your neighborhood with their garish yarn crimes since 2007. What began as a group of crochet-loving friends just chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool and shooting some b-ball outside of the school has transformed into a diabolic art hydra capable of putting together large-scale projects, international art shows, and installations."

Many of you know Barbara Black from her work here with the TQS BOM, on the Show, and her blog. In this "Go Tell It at the Quilt  Show!" video from the Quilt Alliance, she talks about her quilt, Joyful Journey, and how it started her on a different path in quilting.

Barbara also tells you about her "favorite" quilt.
