Clover Mini Iron II

Have you ever tried to press a seam on a very small quilt block or the edge of a tiny appliqué piece with a regular iron?

If you have, you know how difficult that is...the iron blocks your view, and it is difficult to hold your work without burning your fingers because the iron is so much larger than what you are ironing. Clover Mini Iron II to the rescue!

Fabia Diniz of Brazil created a whimsical masterpiece with her quilt, Adventures in Wonderland. It is a wholecloth quilt that Fabia "thread sketched" to create images from the beloved Lewis Carroll classic. Take a look and see if you can find your favorite characters.

Adventures in Wonderland (49" x 60") was exhibited in the Small Wall Quilts - Stationary Machine Quilted category at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah Spring 2019.

Missie used a layering technique of wool and cotton in her beautiful Rustic Wedding quilt. The wool appliqué is raw-edge while the cotton appliqué has a finished edge. Ricky loved her use of color in this quilt.

When you think of Pat Holly, you think of appliqué quilts made with her sister, Sue Nickels, or miniatures with teeny tiny pieces. This quilt is nothing like either of those. Antique Tiny Trip (59" x 60") is just made up of squares...

Pat's quilt was on exhibit at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah Spring 2019 as part of the Small Wall Quilts - Stationary Machine Quilted exhibit.

It is so amazing...it is June!!! How did that happen? I don't know about you, but finally we have had a ray of sunshine in Sisters Country. I hope those of you that are still suffering through the weather systems remain high and dry. Here in Sisters Oregon we are on countdown to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and I am going to have a meet and greet on the day of the show at Fika Coffee. I hope I get to meet a few of you who will be coming to our sweet little town! I'll be posting more details on the Woolie Mammoth Blog and on Quilt Roadies. In the meantime, I thought what a better way to start the month of June off than a slide show of June Jaeger's quilts that were displayed in the Twigs Gallery. I love her work...it is like taking a hike through the woods around here. I hope you enjoy the view and consider taking a class with her someday!

While these placemats were created by Margaret Leuwen for the Christmas holiday season, why not go "full on" red, white, and blue and stitch some up for the 4th of July?

to change the lives of vulnerable orphaned South African children, many of them affected by the HIV / AIDS pandemic.

Actor and singer Patrick Wilson tells the story of The Love Quilt Project and how love is the common thread between the children of the US and South Africa.
