4062_iphoto.jpgHave you purchased the same quilting book twice, three times?  Did you forget that you already owned it? Did you buy it "just in case" because you knew you had to have it?

What was the book that had you seeing double and what did you do with your extra copy?

The Record-Courier, based in Gardnerville, NV, has announced that the Carson Valley Quilt Guild will have prize money in the amount of $20,000 for their 2012 judged show. The show is scheduled for June 9-10, 2012 at Carson High School.  This highly unusual amount of money is credited to the sponsorship of the Los Angeles firm of First Pacific Advisors LLC, who provides investment management services and has personnel in the Lake Tahoe area.

The competition will be open to quilt artists from the Lake Tahoe area as well as quilt artists from outside that area.

Do you use your regular ironing board?

Do you have a large pressing board?  Do you lay it on the floor?

How do you handle the bulk?

Today we'd like to know, how many times have you repeated a quilt pattern, not just used a block once or twice, but actually made the same quilt (different fabrics) more than once?  Why did you choose that pattern, was it simple, did you like the way it highlighted the fabric?  Let us know, what patterns were so good, you had to make them again?

Quilt Hawaii was recently presented in Honolulu and if you love Hawaiian applique, this is the show for you. Sponsored by some of our favorite people, Superior Threads, Flynn Quilt Frame Company, and Keepsake Quilting, the show was full to the brim with applique delight, which had us wondering, have you ever completed a traditional Hawaiian applique completely by hand?

If you are going to be in San Francisco before the end of the month, you still have time to see this wonderful exhibit, Primal Green. According to the SF Public Library, "These art quilts, created by members of the group Contemporary Quilt and Fiber Artists, range from very small to very large and reveal each artist’s unique approach to thinking about the environment."  Anyone catch it yet?
