Themes & Variations in Judy Martin's Quilts - Opening December 12, 2012 and running through March 11, 2013 at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY.

Judy Martin designs and pieces original quilts that are clearly influenced by traditional quilts but she also takes inspiration from her own previous quilts, with specific themes weaving through her work. Some of these themes were subjects of her books first, and they became enduring interests and hallmarks of her style.

Bopping around the internet, you never know what you might find.  Here's a fun website, from the blue chair, created by Kati - a mom to 5-year old and 3-year old twins.  She loves to sew, quilt, and take photos and she somehow finds time to create quilting tutorials as well.  One of her latest tutorials is an adorable Christmas Tree Pillow which you could whip up with just your red, gold, and green scraps.

Here's what Mary Elizabeth wrote on her site.

As we are all preparing for the festivities of the season, I thought some green and white antique quilts would be a lovely way to celebrate our quilting heritage during the holidays!  Every other day, I will share a wonderful green and white antique quilt to inspire and entice.  I hope you will join me and share my blog with your friends.

Ricky has been on many journeys this past year.  During his visit to Sweden he found himself with a "sweet ride."  What sort of accessories do you think this car has?  Built in "lead foot, perhaps?"

Just Another Hang Up has a great project for you to make and keep or give away as a present this holiday season. "Trunk for the Junk" is a tote that helps keep your car tidy and junk free! The tote is lined with clear vinyl fabric which makes it easy to clean.  The outside of the fabric is 100% cotton duck, pretreated with soil and stain repellant.

This tote is so easy to make, no tucks or froo-froos, that you could make two, one for the toys and one for the trash!

In this day and age we are pretty spoiled when it comes to ironing even, if we don't think so.  Take a look at this monstrosity, which was fueled through the use of charcoal, and take a moment to reflect on how far we have come in the "iron age."
