There's a New Navigation Bar. TheQuiltShow.com is still growing and we ran out of room on the old bar (and it was confusing too).

We have new sections coming out and we need a better way to find what is available.  We are still building our new classrooms for Jinny Beyer, Jan Krentz, Patsy Thompson, Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero and more teachers.  There will be a Charity section, Member Spotlights & Artist Spotlights.  We will make it easier to find past slideshows and Smilebox's.

With your help we will clean up the Forum and update the software with new friendly features.  We want our Forum to be the "go to" place for quilting questions.  We have so many great quilters that can answer questions for others that we need to make it easy to participate.

We have been using this behind the scenes for a while now and there are things I like and others I don't.  Let us know your thoughts and suggestions for what menus need to say.  Did we miss anything?

Jinny has an understanding of color and shading that will enrich every quilter's next project. You will be given tips and tools in this video, including a place on the internet to get color palette help.

2354_bom_video.jpgThe BOM video is ready for viewing.  Click on BOM on the navigation bar and all Star members can see the final video in the Series.  Everyone needs to download the BOM 2009 patterns before 12./31/2009, but don't worry, the videos will be available for all of 2010.

2353_jan_krentz_5_rotary_cutters.jpgJan continues her classroom with the history, shape, use and styles of rotary cutters.

We are still building the schoolhouse for all of our teachers.  We expect a "move-in" permit by the first of the year.  Until then, here are Jan's classes so far.  Each is short, informative and fun.

Click the pictures, quit chewing gum and start the class.  (Sit up straight!)                                                                        Part V - Rotary Cutters

There is so much on the site, how can you find something you wanted to see again?  Here's a way!  Look for the little hearts with the plus sign.

2312_favorites.jpg

Just click the heart and you will save this as a favorite that will be easy to find.  Once you have clicked the heart it is recorded in the heart near your name in the upper right.

Then click on the heart next to log off and you will go to your favorites page.  Here you will find a list of your favorites by category.  You can click there to go to what you are looking for.  Let's try an experiment together.  First type "Flying Geese" into the "Search For" box on the top of the Daily Blog page.  Then scroll down and find the blog with the one seam flying geese video.  Click the heart.  Then click on the heart at the top near your name.  Your favorite page will have it for you.

You can click on Articles, Blogs, Stories, Member Blogs, and even the Quilt Gallery to book mark things you want to see again.  Then it is real easy to delete them when you are done.  We are just testing this now, so give it a try and then submit a comment with questions and suggestions.  In the next 2 months there will be some fun new features and we will need your input to see what is best for you.
