Pam Holland has been out and about and over again and she's sharing with you a wonderful video about how Batik fabrics are made.  Don't you just wish you could tag along on one of her journeys?  Thanks Pam!

3131_part_12.jpgJoin Alex in the Piecing 101 classroom.  Alex has more lessons to make, but she has a tough decision.

Her PC is about to blue screen (die).  She owns an Apple laptop but doesn't know Final Cut Pro yet for editing the videos.  Final cut is not easy!!

Does she buy another PC and keep video editing like before, or does she bite the bullet and learn Final Cut????   What would you do?

Safety is eternal vigilance and not climbing ladders after age 60.  Yes Alex can occasionally be seen putting the rotary cutter down still open.  Not Good!

Here are all of this week's lessons:  The first 2 are less than 3 minutes and the last less than 6.

A wonderful member of TQS, Ferret, has sent us a delightful slideshow from the Birmingham Festival of Quilts, held in August this year. It was created by her friend Angela Madden who is also a textile designer, author, quilter, and teacher. Ferret contributed some amazing fashions and also wanted to point out another of her friend's fashions that received no credit. It is a blue/green/black dress in the show listed as Fashion Student. That student is Sarah Poulter and Ferret talks about her here.

These are photos from the "Fashion sans Frontieres" wearable art fashion show held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel. N.E.C., Birmingham Festival of Quilts 2010. It was a Russia versus the U.K. Challenge, The U.K. won on popular vote.

Warning, there is one tad bit "racy" slide toward the end of the show.
