Beloved quilt teacher, author, and designer Laura Nownes comes to Alex's hometown, to show a selection of her charming quilts AND to share her simple, two-pin technique for stitching a Y-seam, a must for constructing the Tumbling Blocks block. Laura also talks about her long-time collaboration with quilter and friend, Diana McClun, including the story behind their best-selling, quilt-library staple, Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!! As an added bonus, Alex and Ricky draw upon the Alden Lane Nursery location to inspire you with tips on color and composition for quilts. Don't miss it!

(Capt'n John has to buy the fabric for the kits next week.  Even if you are going to use your own fabric, let me know which kit you would buy if you were to purchase.  That way we will know what kind of ratio to use.  Just put your vote in the Comments. Thank you for your Help.)--Alex

Sue Garman has done it again!  BOM 2011 will stun your friends and family.  This quilt combines piecing and applique to keep your skills at their best.

We will have 2 kits available that will ship late December because we wanted the latest fabrics.  Sue made one version hip, young and vibrant. Even the teenage and young adults in your family will perk up at this quilt. The most traditional quilters are stopping at the booth and saying, "I would usually do the Elly colors, but this quilt just sings".

Margo agreed to make the second colorway and just got the fabric.  She has worked her fingers furiously to get the center portion done.  It is in the brand new Elly Sienkiewicz fabrics from P&B called "Beloved Beauties".  This quilt brings a rich beauty that complements any home.  My informal poll at the booth has the vote running 50-50 between the 2 quilts. (Doesn't Margo look great too!)

Like prior years, the pictures can't show the stunning mix of colors that are stopping people at our booth to find out "who made that quilt?".

It's time for many of you to renew.  Renew now and join us in what will be a fun journey together with the BOM 2011.
