With Roni's permission I thought you could relate to the letter she sent me.
I worked at the quilt
shop yesterday, this lovely lady came in searching for an easy quilt. She
purchased some items and we started chatting. She was making a quilt for her
son to take to college. She thought he didn't want one, then she asked him and
he said " of course I do". He leaves in 4 weeks.
Then I felt guilty, mine
leaves in 4 weeks too. I didn't ever think about making him a quilt for
college.
I am making the Eagle quilt, but that isn't leaving my house! So,
I went around the store, picked out some fabrics, came home last night and cut.
Started sewing this morning, it was like a comedy of errors. While chain
piecing the 9 patch blocks together, I slashed them with scissors while trying
to cut the pieces apart. I knocked over a brand new box of pins, ( yes all 500
of them are on the floor), but the topper was, I sewed my thumb. I amazed
myself, I didn't scream, I didn't cry, I just raised the needle and ran to put
it under cold water. After that I figured someone was trying to tell me not to
sew on this today.
Seems ok now, just sore.
I might get brave later
and go back to it! Once you fall off a horse, you should get right back
on!
Hope all is well with you.
Talk soon
Roni Gerhardt and her sore
thumb!
PS: In her follow up letter, three rows are done, three more left - you go girl!
