YIPPEE - It is always SO much fun when the preview copy of my latest book arrives along with a beautiful arrangment of flowers. This signals that the publisher will soon be getting all of the books and shortly there after shipping it to your local quilt shop. It takes forever to have the finished product in hand, but oh so worth it. If you have ever wondered what it takes to get published by C&T, please check out my latest podcast at www.alexandersonquilts.com episode 67. Jan Grisgby gives you the inside scoop.

Although I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Cuesta, she was a remarkable lady. The previous blog has gotten me thinking about how interwoven we are. Even though we never met, her mark was certainly made in our community - she will be missed not only by those who knew her, but her effect on quilting will also be missed. I have gotten thinking about those who have profoundly impacted my life and I think I need to go and make a call to simply say, "Thank you" - which is perhaps the greatest prayer of all (I heard that on Oprah many years ago and it has stayed with me).

ROAD TRIP! That is what we just did across the top portion of your state - it was an offical Bernina adventure! What a pleasure meeting all of you - the best part? Knowing that where ever my journey lead, it was with YOU - the quilters! Now THAT is a day job to keep!

I was among friends - but I guess I knew that all along. On the road with Bernina and having a blast! THANK YOU Joanne and all of our friends of The Quilt Show - it was GREAT meeting you!!

Don't you just "love it" when a person says, "look what I got! - for practically nothing?" A twang of jealousy rushes through your body - (oh come on, we have all been there. LOL )- Well, LOOK WHAT I FOUND - I even got it half off, for $1.00 - they just don't make them like they used to. Time to fess up - what cool thing have you found and purchased that made your quilter buddies green with envy? (BTW: Off to the book store - I will let you know what I decide on - thanks for all the titles).

Although I am home for a few days - my mind is on the road. This weekend I will be in upstate NY (sort of) visiting my Bernina Family and friends (please visit www.alexandersonquilts.com for agenda). This is a LLOOOONNNGGG trip across country - my chance to read. I LOVED My Sisters Keeper by Jodi Picoult - in fact I love all her books. So that in mind, any suggestions?

Three more Sues made their way to my design wall. The two on the left made their way to Portugal and the Sue on the right is from England. And to think I once believed she never got off the farm, away from scrubbing cloths and making Sam happy. MAN OH MAN - I have been SSOOOOO wrong and misguided for decades. Embarassed THANK YOU!!!!

Show 108 will launch in the wee hours of the night.............

On a personal note, I have waited years for an interview with my friend Mary Fisher. She is not only an incredibly gifted writer and quilter but an inspiration to those who know and love her. Mary has changed thousands and thousands (perhaps millions) of lives, including mine.
