My son went to school with a wonderful girl named Camie - they were good buds, in fact went to Sr. prom together. Because of their friendship - I became friends with Camie's Mom - Claire. Who, by the way is a quilter. Anyway, Camie recently moved WAAYYYY out in the country with her darling young family and the person they purchased the property from was a quilter. It seemed befitting that the quilt tops stayed with the property, so they were gifted to Camie. Yesterday Claire came over to show me the treasures..........and what to do, what to do (as they are unfinished). To say they are folk art in their nature and construction would be an understatement - but I have to tell you I LOVED them - so here is a peek at who and what was in my sewing room yesterday. Lucky Camie!

A Message from John--I am waiting this morning for Alex to come into the kitchen and I hear her say the following:

"The mirror is having a Bad Hair Day".

It's all in your attitude!

Although I am ever so greatful to be a teacher at Empty Spools Seminars - there are moments I am pain fully envious of the FIVE days of sewing - complete immersion in quilting. I see this pile of fabric and I want to sit down and start stitching away.............

I was so excited that in this session I got to use my camera and projector to teach the class. No more sea of bodies hovering around the table to see a Y seam - Also with my trusty camera in hand, I also was thrilled to go to the beach and talk to a REALLY cute surfer and get it on tape (to share to the world). I asked him if he was a quilter and as you can imagine, it was the perfect pick-up line. LOL. As I was transfering the information into my computer to edit, something went super wrong - the electricity went out - the up shot - end of story? I taped over my most amazing old lady flirty lines!!! hhmmm- better stick to my day job!

I am teaching stars in Merrill hall. The weather is extraordinary - California at its best. We are making stars, and it is safe to say my students are true stars - Also, I have been hearing "It's a New day" around many bends and corners!
