I can't believe it is/was 80 degrees in livermore and threatening snow and rain in Chicago - but that didn't dampen spirits at all (or curb spending habits). First day there I got to spend it with some VIP's with Bernina. These are folks who recently purchased 730's from their local dealers. Bernina treated them to the ulitmate festival experience. Here is a picture I took of the Bernina U.S. President Martin Favre on stage in front of everyone before I spoke - watch out if you are around me because i am getting pretty good with an arms length shot -

We got here safe and sound - despite the weather. Last night I got to play and did I ever play!!!! Perhaps financially I should have stayed in the Bernina booth the whole time. It is AMAZING what a gal can spend in a matter of minutes! If you happen to be at festival you will find me in the Bernina booth Friday afternoon and Sat. mid day. Stop by and say, "its a new day!".

Not only did I get to hang out with Jill and Henry yesterday at Pine Needles, but my buddy Heidi Kaisand was also there! We go a WAY long WAY back. I first met Heidi at Sisters OR about 15 years ago. I have watched her career with great admiration but more importantly have watched her family grow! Last year, to this day, the girls were born , thats right - twins! Big brother Henry probably has his hands full! Happy birthday Virgina and Goldie - and many more!

And what a day it has been - many of you were here to celebrate Pine Needle's new store. And WOW - it is a beauty. On top of a bunch of very happy people AND a sparkling new store, Chloe received a bernina for her 8th birthday AND I got to meet Winnie who is 100 years young. This was an incredible day in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The new address is 1,000 Old Marion Rd, NE Cedar Rapids. 319-373-0334.

BTW: Don't mention this to Jill,  but this is Henry's store!

It's time to pack up again. First off to Pine Needles in Iowa for their grand opening of their new store! I KNOW a bunch of you will be there - I can't wait to meet you! If not at Jill's then how about Festival in Chicago? I will be in the Bernina booth Friday afternoon and Saturday until about 2:00. In all cases be sure to wear your TQS badge. It's a New Day Every Day!

It is Sunday afternoon and now it is play time! Combining my love of "neutrals" and improvisational work - a quilt is starting to take form - design, redesign, audition, redesign - here is a sneak peek of quilt art play in action! (in Series 3, I will show you how to do these strippy thingies that I learned from Jean Wells).

Look what showed up in my mail box? Little Peter Rabbit - actually it was a thank you from the girls of Hillcrest Court reunion. The figures were cut from paper towels and stitched to the back ground then finished with rickrack. What a darling card - thanks Deborah, this is going in a box that Dad made for me to store mementos forever.
