I can't believe a year has gone by - Quilting in the Garden at Alden Lane Nursery is this weekend! This is one of my favorite quilting things to do.  Joen Wolfrom is the featured artist along with a special exhibit by Melinda Bula and of course quilts from our community. The show is BOTH Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 - 4:00 - admission free! There is still room in Cindy Needham's workshop and at the Friday and Saturday evening lecture. John and I will be selling  T-shirts designed for this event - stop by and say "hi". Guess which of Joen's quilts was used for T shirt inspiration this year? To discover more about this jewel of a quilt show in Livermore, Ca., go here. John and I will be looking for you! Help us by wearing a star.

In preparation for Houston this year, I am having to gather quilts and memorabilia for my Silver Star Special Exhibit. Quilts Inc. suggests that you give a span of your entire quilting experience - although this is not quilting per se, look what my mom found..........my very early attempts of stitchery -

The other day John and I were driving home and look what we saw???? Surely this was a quilter's new quilting space being delivered to it's new home! And by the looks of it, he is a guy quilter!! We LOVE to see others sewing space, so take a minute this weekend to snap a picture of your space and post it in your profile (use the bottom row please) - Inquiring minds want to know!

(Capt'n John)--The taping of Series 4 went wonderfully. You are going to learn a variety of techniques and be astounded by some great artists. But 7 straight days is hard even on a Pirate quilter. So if you get a chance and there are seats open (and there is a big fat lap 2 seats away), you lay down and take a nap.

Sometimes I really like getting the window seat. Usually I get an aisle seat, because 6' 2" is hard to fit in airplane seats. I am always amazed by how much land is unpopulated between Colorado and California. I also wore my sunglasses to see all the clouds. So I even took some pictures holding my sunglasses over the lens. We had a great surprise when we saw Photoman and Elena on the same flight to San Jose, CA.

Tomorrow I will pull together some of my pictures of the shows and get them up on the blog. There's no place like home.

One of my great joys of being associated with Bernina is the opportunity to visit Bernina dealers across this country. Through this process I have become very good friends with many of them and in addition have had the opportunity to meet YOU! If you live in the following areas, please mark your calendar for my September Road Trip  - I will be presenting a virtual trunk show about my quilting life journey, from stay at home mom to TV host to executive producer and co-host of thequiltshow.com, who would have guessed?! -  Inspiration and a laugh or two is guaranteed.  Come see me!

Dallas, TX - September 16th

It seems appropriate that on the eve of taping series 400 (can you believe it?), I am grabbing a day or two to quilt. Here is a look at what I am currently working on, but WE want to know what YOU are working on! Please take a minute to snap a shot and up load it in your personal profile (did you notice that web guru Bob has given you more real estate to strut your stuff?) - then tell us HERE and we will take a peek at what's cooking in your quilting life! Don't be shy - lets have a virtual quilting bee this weekend. NOTE: If you use one of the first 12 slots, your image will turn up in the gallery - please use one of the last 6 Personal Photo slots (not the first 12) if the quilt is in progress - save the first 12 slots for the finished project.
