Recently I photographed my quilts with my new fancy dancy camera (Nikon90) - sounds easy? NO!!!! This meant plowing through my quilts, hanging them and then refolding them to fit back into their tight space - However.....the hidden blessing was that I found this quilt!!! I thought it exisited, but couldn't find it - and then I was beginning to question my memory (I know NONE of you can relate to that ) AND THEN....there she was!!!! Is this something I should consider patterning (38" x 38")?

I LOVE rodeo weekend in Livermore, Ca. Did you know we have the Worlds Fastest Rodeo? We live a few blocks from the rodeo grounds and every year I LOVE talking my morning walk through the area. Trucks, live stock, cowboys and cowgirls grace the landscape. Loving the images I dashed home and grabbed my camera to capture the experience. It struck me like a lightening bolt how sub cultures (as ours) have hidden codes of conduct and expected behaviors - from how we talk, think, compete and express ourselves - all the way down to dress code (I can spot a quilter a mile away!). It really got me thinking......How would you explain to an anthropologist who we are as a community?

It is rare these days that I get out and teach - but in July you will find me at AQS KNOXVILLE in both the class room, evening lecture and in The Quilt Life booth - I am also heading off to Sister's Or for their 35th annual Outdoor Quilt show of which I will be meeting up with Ricky. Please check out both possiblities and sign up for a class, lecture or two! I would love to meet you at one of these events -Class topics: Beautifully Quilted (how to tackle quilting design) and Fabric from A to Z.
