I am back on track working on the TQS quilt (I see a light at the end of the tunnel) - My question is - how long can a person reasonably machine quilt in one sitting?

John & I attended a special birthday tonight. Carolee Hensley celebrated her quilt store's, The Cotton Patch, 32nd birthday. What an amazing record. Carolee is a mentor and a good friend. Carolee was a pioneer in the quilting business.
At one market there was a rumor that she was sleeping with the owner of C&T Publishing. But then again, so was he. Carolee & Tom stumbled into the publishing business by agreeing to publish the book of which quilting legend?
a. Joen Wolfrom
b. Jinny Beyer
c. Roberta Horton
d. Judith Baker Montano

It seems yesterday that I walked though the door of the Cotton Patch in Lafayette Ca - they had just opened and I had just started quilting. This was a match made in heaven! Tonight we are celebrating MANY years or quilting, business and friendship at 6:00pm at the store. You are invited to come and join in the festivities - Hope see you there!
It seems like it was just yesterday that TQS began to take form - who could have imagined??? In this round of taping we hit the big 100 - and celebrated in style. Looking back, what has been some memorable moments for you at TQS - both on the show and on the site?
Pod casting is back and alive on my personal site - kicking off with episode 101. Yesterday I had the good fortune to chat with Donna Sue Groves on the telephone. Although she is not a quilter, you can bet your last buck that she has affected more people with the passion of quilting than almost anyone. So please take a moment to jump on over to my personal site and listen to the latest episode of The AAQ Quilt Connection by clicking here.
As for myself - my least favorite part of quilting is the binding - perhaps it is my impatient nature (it always makes me smile when people say, "oh you must be so patient to quilt") that makes this part so painful. Opposites attract, because my daughter recently finished this quilt for a friend and found herself LOVING this part of the process - go figure. Now it is your turn to chime in -
My kids have been raised their whole life around quilting - recently Adair wanted to make a quilt for a dear friend who had moved to New York. This friend wanted a yellow wall but because of rental restrictions this was not possible - so my daughter got busy. She chose a pattern from one of the quilts in my Super Simple series co-authored with Liz. This was a perfect choice for a "painted wall" quilt - so this now begs the question - Is Adair now a quilter? And who wants to tell her that! LOL
Not sure what exactly is going on here - but check out the security station in SFO - This is a FIRST!!!!! Off to Knoxville - please stop by The Quilt Life Booth to say, "It's a new day". That is where I will be hanging out when I am not teaching............
Growing our kids up we had an annual 4th of July party where families vied to be the best patriot in the block. The winner was decided by attire, food, games and spirit. As the kids grew older and moved on with their lives (and we too moved) this wonderful tradition sadly went by the way side. Adair decided this was the year to start it up again, and did we ever! Ages ranged from 2 years old to 85 - it is safe to say a good time was had by all, I am no longer 25 and everyone is already planning for next year. For those of you who had a three day weekend, how did it play out for you?
Because of QUILTING and Facebook - John and I got to see Wicked this past month in San Francisco - not to mention with the best seats in the house. If that wasn't enough I got to meet Galinda and then to boot - look what came in the mail??!! If you have not yet seen this production it is a bucket list item for sure! Also bring you binocs to see the costuming/ INCREDIBLE - and then prepare for a magical journey you will soon not forget.
