We are so excited about Sue Garman's BOM 2011 that she has designed JUST FOR US!  As in the past, we will be offering kits for the BOM - in fact, this year we will be offering TWO kit colorways - Sue chose to work with collections so NEW and HOT - that the kits will not be available right off the bat. BUT - non-the- less P&B is starting to ship what inventory they do have in stock so we can get started cutting - At this point PLEASE DO NOT call the shoppe as we are setting up a new system - do not worry - we will ring the bell from the top of the mountain to keep you informed of where and when to order - All I can say is, "This must have been a sight to see".

California was in the 70s (F) 2 weeks ago.  Now there is a chill in the air!!  I know that you won't feel sorry for us, but I thought this was Sunny California!

This is one of the very few hands on workshop I get the pleasure of hosting each year. Space is extremely limited - so do not delay - tell Santa you have been very good this year, and secure your spot today!

We are home safe and sound (Sparrow is especially happy). Personally I felt the mood at festival was super upbeat and positive. If you were lucky enough to attend.... what special things or events caught your eye?

The World Series Quilt Challenge Auction is still in full-swing.  If you'd like to bid on any of the amazing quilts, click here.  But, if you want to talk jewelry, take a look at these.  You can help support the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI) by purchasing these beauties.  They are little tiny versions of each of the participants quilts. Aren't they amazing!  If you can't bid on a quilt, you can still have a little bitty version for each ear and the are only $15 per pair (not including shipping).  It's another great way to support the AAQI and look beautiful at the same time.

The World Series Quilt Challenge Auction to benefit the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative is in full swing until November 10 and I forgot to post a picture of John Flynn's glorious contribution to the cause.  As a man who lives in the Big Sky country of Montana, I'm sure John is more than familiar with storms and his quilt, Heart of the Storm, is a miniature masterpiece. The best part is...this quilt could be yours.  To bid on John's quilt, click here.  To ROOT for John, click here and your $1 contribution will go far in helping to erase this disease from our memory.

Heart of the Storm - This quilt has both a heart for compassion and a ribbon for awareness hidden in the piecing.

There goes Ricky again bragging about Texas.  We'll let me tell you that there are some fabulous quilters from other parts of the world (like Colorado) and I want them to take the lead in the World Series Quilt Challenge to fight Alzheimer's. Perhaps you recognize one or two of these fetching ladies...(Becky Goldsmith, Alex, and Linda Jenkins of Piece O' Cake Designs) Becky has a beautiful challenge quilt with a very touching story and I think we need to ROOT FOR BECKY.  For just $1 you can help destroy this terrible disease and honor Craig Goldsmith.

Here is Becky's beautiful quilt (you can also bid on this quilt) and the story behind it. "My father-in-law, Craig Goldsmith, is fading fast. At this point he likes to share stories from his youth. He is sharing the bits of himself that he can still find and it is an honor to hold those memories for him because they, too, will surely fade away."

Whoa!  Hold on a minute!  No one asked me about rooting for Ricky in the World Series Quilt Challenge for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.  I can't let my old fishing buddy John Flynn (not to mention my girlfriend peeps) get tossed aside for some wayhoo from Texas.

So here's the deal, I'm going to click here to root for the American Quilt League. Remember, nobody wins with Alzheimer's, take that money you'd spend on a fancy coffee and help stamp out a terrible disease, it's just $1 per vote.
