We have all been there- In every quilters experience there has been a time or place where you cast an immediate judgement against a certain style of fabric. For instance, many years ago, the 30´s look was not my favorite (Alex speaking here). After purchasing and working with them, they have grown to find a place in my heart. What is your least favorite style of fabric?  Would you be willing to take a TQS challenge and work with this fabric? Who knows - it may work a place into your stash at home!

Did you miss a chat you hoped to attend? Do you live in a time zone that puts the chat at odd hours? Not to worry, when we have a Featured Guest Chat, such as the chat last evening with Justin, a transcript is created and posted for you to read at your convenience. Just go to the Chat link and look for Chat Transcripts. How cool is that?

This picture shows the green of the trees in the foreground compared to the trees catching the pink light from the setting sun.  There are a lot of colors in nature if we just watch.  So when choosing colors for a quilt ask yourself what time of day it is.  Perhaps a baby quilt could be the colors of a sunset.  Joen Wolfrom our color expert talks about colors in nature in show 103. Click here (then test your remote control skills and jump to Chapter 3). For more information see Joen's book "Visual Coloring".

When you think of colors, what is your favorite season or time of day ?

Sometimes inspiration can come from the most unusual places - for instance when I was a little girl we would head up to the mountains to camp at a wonderful little lake - This cloth sample was made from memory. Fast forward - we recently went back to the lake for a party - and guess what? My memory did not fail me. Expose yourself to unusual treats - you never know where your next quilt idea will come from. Perhaps, for me, a little light bulb or cup cake quilt is around the corner! What is the most unusual inspiration you have used for a quilt?
