Check out Pat's little ittie-bittie quilt! It was simply perfect and the judges thought so also. The pieces were appliqued by machine blanket stitch. Congratulations to our friend!!!!

As mentioned in the previous blog -Paducah doubles in size during quilt show. That is a lot to handle for ANY town. But the folks get organized and vendors come in from all over and the locals have it down pat - it is a sight to behold!

Several hundred gathered for the awards presentation at the Carson Four Rivers Center in Paducah, KY tonight. Libby Lehman, the ever popluar MC of the event, continued to keep the audience in stitches with her funny comments. This year, it was all based on old TV shows: Desparate Housequilts, Ragnet, and Leave it to Sleever were among the most popular titles.

While attendees always enjoy the wit and humor Libby provides, it's really all about the winners. Best of Show this year went to Ted Storm from The Netherlands for her quilt Spring of Desire. The quilt was inspried by Ted's great, great, great grandmother's bridal handkerchief Congratulations Ted! To learn more about Ted and the history behind this quilt visit the Daily Blog on November 29, 2007.

Visit the AQS website for the complete winners list.

WebGuru Bob has restored the forum to our best back up--April 9.  Any posts that occurred from April 10 to today have been lost.  But you remember what you said, right? Bob figured out what was knocking out some of the posts, so it should not happen again.  Please alert us right away if you see any glitches.

Thank you for your patience.      919_button_proceed_to_forum.gif

The forum problems are larger than we thought.  WebGuru Bob is going to take it down again and go back to the best backup we have.  This looks like April 9.  He anticipates that it could be down 3 days while he restores the back ups and tests the posting process.  We will keep you updated on the progress.

By the way, it is always good to back up your letters and pictures that are on your computer in case of a problem.  Just ask Alex and WebGuru Bob.  My suggestion for home computers is to use a memory stick.  They are getting very cheap and can hold a lot of information.  They are also easy to use.  In most cases you can just insert them into your USB drive and the computer will know that you have some extra memory.

Every time we have a shoot, we have a theme day. This time it was a "western" theme. The crew came in western wear and when the first show of the day started we decided to keep the western theme during the show. The show is not a western show, but Alex wore her Rodeo number and Ricky wore spurs.

During the lunch break we went to the historic Fort Francisco museum. The fort is part of the wild west as John Fransicso and Kit Carson were contemporaries. The old Fort Francisco is hidden in the heart of La Veta and offers tours during the summer tourist season.

We've got the next theme day for the fall already slated. What's your guess?
