It's time to begin stitching the July block(s) for your Block of the Month quilt. If you're working on Hugs and Kisses, this month's "assignment" is a lovely Crossed Leaves block (above left). If you're working on Star Crazy, you'll be making the Shoo Fly Variation, Nine-Patch, as well as an Irish Chain (above right).

Our Friends who own the quilt store El Costurero in Costa Rica, sent us a copy of a new magazine.  Maria Teresa Arteaga and Rocio Flaque the owners of El Costurero are contributors and Alex can tell that many of the pictures were taken at Maria's wonderful house.  Felicitaciones!!

Sydney Quilt ShowOur TQS members are at it again, winning prizes left and right. This time it's the Sydney Quilt Show 2010. The show ran from June 16-20 at the Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour.

TQS member, Marianhelen, aka Marian Brown won the collaborative quilt section with Glenys Wallbridge and Barbara Myers.  Marian designed the contemporary sample and the three of them dyed the fabrics.

Another familiar name, Helen Godden, also took first prize in both the Art Quilt and Pictorial Quilt categories.

I (Alex) just got my 6 copies on Friday - I usually order another 6 to "just have on hand" - this morning I placed my call to AQS and guess what - THEY ARE SOLD OUT!!!!!! This is in less than ONE WEEK. Apparently they have been shipped to major chains, just like the last two, but the warehouse is clean as a whistle! Should we be happy or sad???
