Making your on the go quilting even more fun with this cool new tool designed by (and patent pending!) quilt artist (Episode 1507) Cheryl S.See.  We know you are going to love it as much as we do.

The Quilt Scroll ™ offers:

  • generous storage for basic quilting supplies like, needles, thimble and multiple spools of thread.
  • a hole in the end cap that allows thread to be dispensed easily.
  • a dual-purpose handle that changes the Quilt Scroll ™ from a portable design mat to a temporary design wall.
  • a way to tuck pins and needles under the Velcro tabs. You can also thread multiple needles at home where the light is good before you quilt on-the-go.
  • a spot on the label that can be used to hold a small pair of scissors.

Not sure what this tool is about, check out the video and we know you will be hooked.

We only have a limited amount (and there is one less because Alex bought one) in stock, so get them while they last.

Join us in Episode 1508 as we explore new techniques  with mixed-media textile artist Valerie C. White who reveals the pleasures and rewards of creating prayer flags from leftover fabric scraps. Valerie, one of 44 artists invited by the Historical Society Museum in Washington, DC, to create a quilt celebrating the 2008 election of Barack Obama, shows how she produces her thoughtfully constructed little (5" x 11") artworks, and shares ideas for enhancing them with hand and machine stitching, paint sticks, watercolor pencils, and markers.

It's time again for the gang and members from TQS to descend upon the city of Houston, TX for the annual International Quilt Festival, and a chance to meet, chat and visit.  This year, we'll be in booth #224.  Stop by for the daily 1:00pm meet/greet, but this year we have added an extra surprise.

The TQS booth will be hopping with a dizzying array of round the clock top of the hour demos by artists featured on shows from the past as well as the future.  You don't want to miss this opportunity to learn  some new tricks, chat, and ask questions of the industry's most outstanding quilt artists.

We don't want to be name droppers, but here are just a few names to whet your whistle:

Philippa Naylor
Paula Nadelstern
Victoria Findley Wolfe
Robbie Joy Eklow
Laura Wasilowski
Anita Grossman Solomon
David Taylor

AND if that weren't enough, the designer of the 2015 BOM will be in the booth every day!  She is charming, talented, witty, and from across the pond.  We know you will definitely want to meet her!

At TQS we are mainly Apple people. So the new phone is a big thrill, but will it fit in a pocket?

Rochelle posted an image of her "Happiness" quilt in progress in the Show & Tell area and is now the lucky winner of a Flutter Fat Quarter Bundle.

We return to the Witte Museum in San Antonio, TX, to meet Priscilla Knoble, a "lover of all things fiber-related" who grew up the daughter of missionaries in Japan. As a quilter familiar with the Japanese design aesthetic and fluent in the language, Priscilla emerged as the obvious (authorized) choice to translate, publish, and distribute the books of renowned Japanese quilt artist Yoko Saito.

  • Priscilla discusses the subtle, but surprisingly complex Japanese taupe color palate
  • Demonstrates some of Yoko's favorite tools and techniques
  • How to create and hand appliqué teeny tiny bias stems
  • Design an original House block
  • Stitch a fully-lined inside pocket
