QuiltersLane's Quilts - Shifting Strata - I used the blocks from Wendy Williams pattern and experimented with the colours, I love the pop that the gold and purple give to the greys. Arranging the blocks was an interesting exercise and I looked at them on my design wall for a long time before coming up with the final layout. This quilt reminds me of the rocks in the South Island of New Zealand, and I named it Shifting Strata as I thought of the recent earthquakes in Christchurch.
