I've started this discussion, because I had noticed that comments posted directly on the first page of the group the so called 'wall' seem to have a limited life span - as in I am unable to view earlier comments, even though there is a large button that says 'more' when I hit it nothing else is shown. Also there is a space limit to the size of posts you can put on the 'wall', as I have just remarked on my last post, which doesn't appear to be the case in here in the discussion section.

Sue apparently has the privilege of being able to delete photos if you duplicate things which is not open to the rest of us.

And I still haven't worked out how Nancy managed to add comments to her photos that appear when you hover your cursor over them. Any chance of a tute on how you achieved that Nancy? I've tried tagging them to no avail thus far.

I admit, when I started this group, I was flying by the seat of my pants. I have made every album, picture, discussion and membership Public. If this is not a worthwhile place to add pictures of Mug Rugs, I may be able to delete the group. I think we should be patient and see how this all works out, like learning how to play a new video game. I don't mind Groups instead of Show and Tell. I just wish all the groups showed up all the time on the TQS Wall. I'm not sure everyone knows how to find all that are there.

Terri, everyone can see everything because this is an open group. It is different from the Mug Rug topic because there are photo albums here specific to Mug Rugs.
I'm not sure discussion here would ever replace discussion on the Forum. Discussions from both places go on the TQS Community wall, just like pictures posted anywhere go on the Community wall.

Just popping in to check things out a bit. What about this Mug Rug Lizards Group...how is it different from the Mug Rug topic on the forum? If some one post on here, will everyone in the 'group' see it. I guess by posting on here, I might figure it out? Is this popular, as the forum topic Mug Rug Exchange - I'm not sure what this is, except that I get more notifications of a post on the forum than on here. Is this separate from the forum? Can we post pictures on here? Just getting back into lizard mode after babysitting 3 grandchildren for 3 days. I need my lizards.. Another point...I've read that some people were having trouble renewing, or remaining the same 'person' they used to be. Is that all figured out yet? I am hesitant to renew, but I don't want to loose touch with you fellow lizards. BTW who was the first person to name us that?/???. Wondering if anyone gets a notice that there is a new post on the 'group' page. 1-2-3-testing, testing, testing...

Nancy, please try this: Go to the Mug Rug Photo and click on one of the pictures so it is huge. This should show all of the photos with arrows on either side to keep viewing all of them in large format. From there, under the picture is a Tag Picture section. I just did it on your Horse MR, and under that, I added a comment, but then again, I started the album, so don't know if this is why. When I click Add Comment, after I've added a comment, the comment disappears, but if I REfreSH or REloaD my page, it appears. Let us all know how this works for you.

I just noticed that for me, on your Grand Illusion, that Tag Picture is for Faces. I hate Tag Pictures. It's the Internet being friggin' snoopy. Picasa has this, too, and so does Google. I can only comment on someone's picture if they are my 'friend'. Not sure I like the friend feature. I liked being able to send a compliment to anyone on the old website.

I've uploaded a photo to the Mug Rug album and I also can't update the description. Looks like you have to be the owner of the photo album, even in a group album.

Nancy, that's where I am trying to post the photo, in my own profile photo albums. I'm just quitting that project for awhile.

I would try it on a photo in an album on your profile first. It might be that only the group administrator can do this for the groups. I've only done it on my profile. At least if you try it on your profile, we'll know whether it works for you anywhere and then can try to narrow down why it doesn't work on the group photos. I'll try adding a mug rug photo and updating the caption tonight after work, to see if it works for me here.

Just been for a 4 mile cycle ride (flop) not particularly voluntarily (puff, pant), to the dentist & back, to only way to get there today since DH has the car. Back to trying to add notes to photos. So I click on the photo album, click on the first muggie I put up and get the slide show page as per Nancy's description. Then I scroll down to the box that holds the file no. When I put the cursor over this box I get a red circle with a red line through it. I've tried using Tag this Photo, to no avail, and the last box on the right hand side which says 'in this photo' is equally uninterested in accepting any text. All I have been able to do is to put the information in the first comment.
I tried adding text to this box when I re-uploaded & duplicated a picture last night, but it didn't like me losing the file number. Perhaps I will try adding the information to the file number next - watch out for more duplications....

I have tried at least 20 times to add a picture of my unborn, reluctant to enter the world, dear Granddaughter Ellie's quilt to my own personal albums. Grrrrrrrrrr I can't figure it out.

I found 'Nuff said' by looking at the Lizards Group Page and clicking on it with Rosemary's explanation. This Add Comment is under Rosemary's paragraph.

Updating the text for a photo only works sometimes. What I did was go into the album and click on the picture I want to add text for. This brings you into a slide show with that picture being the current picture. Underneath the picture is some text that starts out being the file name of the picture when you uploaded it. Put the text you want there. Then I go to the top of the page and click on "Back to Album" and hover over the picture to see if it worked. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work, I try it again. If it doesn't work the second time, I move the picture in the album by putting the mouse over the icon near the bottom of the the picture that appears as parallel horizontal lines. Not sure why that icon would mean "move", but apparently it does. Anyway, I drag the picture to a new location in the album and try again. So far, the text changes have always worked after I've dragged the picture, but that could be coincidence since we're dealing with incredibly, ridiculously buggy code here. Oops, didn't mean to let that slip out.....
