Embroidery after applique

Need advice.  I am using applique paper and glue technique for the applique.  Lynette demonstrated on the Daily Blog 8 Dec.  Should i wash the block to soften the paper before embroidery?  Do you recommend embroidering before applique esp. that small window above the door?  Thanks Jo

I did the embordiery before I applique , this worked well for me

This is just my opinion but I don't think you should be washing the applique before you finish the quilt. The embroidery should be done after you have attached all the pieces to the house. That's what I would do. Hope that helps.
