I cut them all out at once and then pinned the matching ones all together and kept them in baggies, taking out only 5 or 6 at a time and sewing them together according to the instructions.
I have done the center part of this quilt and need to start on the border. The most glaring mistake I made is in using too thin plastic to make my templates. If I ever do a quilt again that uses templates I will have the local plastic/glass shop cut me a proper template. My cut pieces were not accurate enough and I ended up being very frustrated when putting it all together. People who are not quilters do not see the "glaring" mistakes but anyone who is in the "know" will immediately see them. Live and Learn!
CMOELLERS - Thanks for the hint. I will take a photo and post it. Here is photo. Be careful when you are tracing your border design onto your border fabric. I almost did it upside down but caught myself just in time.
It will be fun to see all the different variations as everyone starts posting their progress. Dahlialady, there is a little camera icon to the right of the comment box. Click on the icon and then it will ask you where your photo is. Select the .JPG file and then click the "OPEN" button. It will start the download of your picture underneath your comment. I can't wait to see it!!!
Looks really great. I collected strips and border prints on a quilt run a couple years ago and used what I had in my stash. It was wonderful to go shopping in my own collection of fabrics. I need to post a photo of what I've done so far but haven't figured out how to do that yet.
