Just joined the group. Wanted to share what I have done so far. I decided to go with an Americana theme. All my stripped fabrics are various red, white, and blues. It took me a little while to gather up enough of these. It was fun going into local quilt shops and looking for stripped fabrics, but I finally found enough to start working on the blocks.

I went to the pattern to check out which piece the 'b' was. I think doing a few sets at a time would be a good way to go. That way you aren't jumping back and forth too often and loosing your rhythm. But I know I would not cut all at one time, unless I had an accuquilt cutter and proper sized templates. And if I cut more than 6 or 8 I would have some type of container to keep them in proper order until I could get to the sewing aspect. Right now my machine is buried knee deep in turmoil as we had to empty out two rooms for accommodating my HQ Fusion that got put together on Friday.

I just cut enough to make one block at a time then sewed them together, put them up on the design wall to see if I liked the color combination. Then I went on to the next set of four small blocks. I could then move things around to get a color combination I liked. That way, all the cutting didn't have to be done at one time which is pretty boring and time consuming. It didn't seem to daunting
