Capt'n John--"When I get to the quilt area at the Houston Quilt Show, I run through looking at categories and the special exhibits to see if something really grabs my attention. I have seen a lot of quilts by now, but I never get tired of the variety and quality at these major shows. This year a special exhibit called "Quilts 1650-1850 From "Broderie" to "Broderie Perse" stopped me in my tracks. Here is one of the quilts. Sorry for all the pictures, but you really have to see all the detail to know why I was amazed." We will show more of these in the coming weeks. (The last picture is one of the butterflies.
