So very sad to hear of Kay's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting her once and I was so in auuh of meeting one of my much admired quilting teachers. I met her at my first and only quilt guild meeting, when she said, "come and sit by me." I am Native American. Thank you Kaye for being so nice to me.

was fortunate enough to have several encounters with kaye over the years and am one of her certified instructors. most of the techniques I use in my quilting came from her pbs shows and books. she made me a lover of being pointless, I will miss her common sense approach and humor. my sympathy goes out to her family she will always live in the hearts of those she touched.

I have always been a person who likes to make things and wondered if I could learn to quilt. After a strange introduction to quilting techniques I learned that I can transfer what I know about sewing to quilting. ( I have hearing problems and the doctor I see is an avid quilter. She taught me several things! I told you it was strange!) I began to watch PBS and found Kaye Wood. It was her enthusiasm and wonderful sense of humor that helped me to get started. I will miss her as I know her family and friends do more than I can say. Condolences to her family and friends.

So sad to hear of the loss of this innovative quilter. I watched her on TV and took a class in Phoenix in 1988. The most important thing I learned from her was to use a “security blanket” or bridge as it is called in the sewing dictionary. This item is used when not chain piecing to save thread and keep away thread nests that form on certain brands of machines when starting stitching.

I particularly liked one of her shows that talked about quilters who are adamant about matching their points and some that just don't care. She was hilarious saying that after teaching workshops she realized quilters could be divided into 2 categories: point and pointless. I can relate as I'm a point person and my girlfriend is a pointless person. So sorry to hear of her passing and condolences to all family and friends.
