I am definitely a smorgasbord quilter. Right now I am working 2 wool BOM’s with on-line groups. #1 is Maggie Bonanomi’s Village Green, with the group Buttermilk days, and Lori Smith’s Mother Earth.with threads Of Folk Art. We are full time RVers and since we don’t always find quilters I have contact with other stitchers. Another facebook group I discovered is RVQuilters. I have taken a note from your Beehive and make a list of monthly goals it includes the 2 BOMs , one UFO,and 1 get organized project. Thanks for all you do to keep we nomad quilters involved.

Your little trailer is so cute! I think I am somewhere in between smorgasbord and entree? Where piecing is concerned, more entree --one project at a time plus the leader ender project which is more for convenience. I do have several tops waiting for the longarm, but I tend to do those in batches. I would enjoy having a handwork project, but my older hands/fingers don't agree. Anyway, it would take forever to finish because I don't have much time for that any more. All said, I find one-at-a-time more relaxing and more efficient. Interesting question!

I too am a Smorgasbord stitcher. I have pieced projects, wool applique, redwork, art quilts, all in process at the same time. Gives me variety as well as hand work that can go any place with me. Oh and there's also the quilt on the long arm and those needing the binding. Yep, one huge smorgasbord of projects.
I am definitely a smorgasbord stitcher. My current active projects are string blocks for a Bonnie Hunter design, quilting an Edyra Sitar pattern and working on two cross stitch patterns at night, There are numerous other started quilts and tons of ideas in my head.
Definitely smorgasbord. I do applique and x stitch. I find having more than one project keeps me motivated to keep doing projects. They do get finished eventunally but the most fun is in the journey!! I always have a to go project since I've been spending time in the ER lately!!
One project at a time? Well, yes. One mindless knitting project, one "thinking" knit project, one applique project for a big quilt, one quilt piecing project, one free motion quilting project, one pants pattern draft in progress, one blouse cut out and ready to sew, one folk painting project, one calligraphy project.
I am an Entree'! I quilt very, very slowly, and I want to see "that Beast" finished before I try to tackle another project.
I try to be an Entrée Stitcher, because having multiple projects "open" can stressful to me. I don't like to leave things unfinished. But, over the last 3 years, as I began participating in BOM's, the Splendid Sampler, and Project Quilting challenges, I found that I have multiple projects in the works. I usually try to get small projects out of the way, then go back to the big one (or two). It is stressful, but I just try to take a breath and enjoy my retirement hobby.

I am definitely a smorgasbord stitcher-----qu ilting, cross stitch, embroidery and home decor projects. I love hand stitching and small cross stitch projects I can take with me wherever I go. Currently I am hand quilting a Christmas quilt with lots of wool applique which is my work at home project. I love your tutorials, you are a great teacher. You have your beehive and I have my bear den.

Definitely Smorgasbord. I get bored easily, so that’s part of it. This allows me to jump from project to project, depending on my mood. It also allows me to work on something all the time, not just at my machine. I love to appliqué and embroider, so I can take those along or watch tv. I also read several books at one time, so perhaps it’s personality related.

A wannabe Smorgasbord stitcher. I try to have multiple projects going simultaneously. Out of necessity, I have had to. But to do that I must fight my strong preference to finish one project, no matter how involved, to its very end until I can concentrate on anything else. I envy those who can whip out 3-4 projects interchangeably . So Entree stitcher it is!

I'm a Smorgasbord quilter for many reasons. I get bored with big projects, projects take longer than I thought and I have a deadline on something else, I see something new and just want to start it right away, then I forget what I started and start another quilt. I also don't like some quilts once I start, so put them away. I am making good progress on my UFO's now, have completed 9, one each month.

Kathryn Walmsley I have a rule for art and life. If you don’t want to do this then do that, just do something. I guess that makes me a smorgasbord stitcher. I do love immersing myself in one project too but always have more than one project or idea on deck. For me this is a stress reliever, just do something else until the needed solution or inspritation for what I’ve been working on arrives.

Smorgasbord, definitely. I get bored easily but I’d like to be more focused. In our bee, we decided to have a Dollar Quilt Challenge. At the beginning of each year we write down incomplete projects, give $1 for each project into a pot. As we complete the project, we take the dollar back. At the end of year, you receive a ticket for every project you completed. The money in the pot unclaimed is then given to the winning ticket drawn at our Christmas party. It’s been a fun incentive for me. This years winner won $75.
