I keep noticing this quilt on your wall in the "Bee Hive". It reminded me of several fat quarters I received from my sister-in-law upon her return from Alaska. The materials all represent Alaska and now I am inspired to do something with them. Thank you for that!!! Connie

What a wonderful quilt, so peaceful to view! Many years ago I read "This Present Darkness" by Frank E. Peretti which essentially, was about the battle between good vs. evil using archangels pitted against demons. A particular passage depicting an archangel worshiping God with his raised, golden sword and illuminated by heavenly light in a woodsy area stayed with me until a couple years ago when my quilting abilities developed enough to turn the image into a small wall hanging. It remains one of my favorites and hangs in my sewing room as testament to the power of words and of my own faith. Georgia

The reverse happened to me. I made a library quilt and a mystery writer said she would make me a character in her next book in exchange for the quilt. I sent the quilt, and the book came out last August. BTW Kristin Hannah is the niece of someone I know. Loved The Nightingale by her.

Beautiful quilt, Anna! And what a great idea - to make a quilt inspired by something you read. But I read an average of a book a week and I can't sew that fast. hahaha! You've got me thinking though......... ............ Thanks!

I recently read this book as well and it was one of those books that stayed with me for quite a while after putting it down. I became very engrossed with the lead character and even though it was difficult to read at times, so glad I did. I have only seen Alaska by cruise ship but it is a unique world unto itself.
