"Every color in the fabric line" A worthy goal but it would be nice to know which fabric line of which company. I hope most of us recognize that acknowledging the quilter does not give her 50% of the credit for the success of the quilt. In this case, I'm surprised that quilt won in the category of "quilting", as it is just straight lines.Great quilt and you should both be proud.

I agree 100% with Marcia. I can't quilt in the ditch but I could have quilted this quilt...Perhaps part of the judging or comments should evaluate the quilting effect on the quilt and decide what percentage it deserves?

Did I read the artists statement wrong, or did she SAY "Longarm"?? She said "Frame". I take that to mean a frame like a Grace Frame. Please correct me if I am wrong. However, Sarah did a spectacular job... and 'spectacular' is not enought of a word to describe. The quilter is acknowledged, as well deserved. Sarah Bond is given first billing. Bottom line, this quilt is AMAZING!! Well done, girls!

I don't agree with 50% recognition between the quilter and the quilt designer/maker. The quilt maker designed and created the quilt including all the expense and time that goes with that process. This could take month or years. Credit should definitely be given to the quilter but given that long arm machines and sometimes computerized machines are used along with the quiltmaker's choice of quilting design, 50% is too much. Exceptions would be a whole cloth quilt or one that is specifically designed to showcase the quilting aspect or where the quilter worked closely with the quiltmaker and spent just as much time and effort to enhance the design. Just my 2 cents.

The quilt is wonderful and the maker should be very proud. However, since the quilt was done by 2 individuals- both should get the recognition and equally. I am tired of seeing the direction the quilt community is going in this respect. The quilting on a finished top contributes to its success and should be recognized accordingly - 50% regardless if the maker paid for the work. 2 individuals made this quilt.
