Our retreat is next week! It's about an hour from home (on a good traffic day). My main focus was to work on sashing two 50 block, large sized lap quilts, but wouldn't you know that 2 small projects have jumped to the front of the line?--a cute, small Halloween wall hanging for my daughter and a thank you block for our retiring guild president. There will still be some time for the sashing projects, but i'm looking forward to completing some fast, fun projects as well. Our guild also has "retreat lite" 4 times a year in a pair of classrooms at a local hotel--stay overnight or go home to bed, your choice. Always big fun and oh, so productive!

I agree completely. A retreat is very motivational. But I must say that laundry basket of yours does not look like something that came from a disorganized Bee Hive. :-)

I see some handwork is planned! I just got back from a four day three night retreat about 2 hours from home. First day I made an improv design for a backing. Second day I prepped four quilt tops to be quilted, one including my improv back. Then started finishing two block swaps incorporated into one top which was finished by day three's end. Then I started to think of laying out another set of blocks before heading to bed. But first cleaned up my work space. Oh I also prepped background strips for an appliqué border. Next morning I looked at my swap quilt and did a bit of restitching on a wobbly border and decided to leave the blocks of the next swap alone. Time to go home not start another project and get dtuck in rush hour traffic. Good choice has we had heavy rain and windstorm start as I got home. Have a great time at your retreat Anna!
