Wondering if anything has been organized to support flooded quilters, i.e. fabric, thread, scissors, needles, etc If anyone knows of such a drive, please post an address and any information you have about donating

Thanks for the info, especially regarding pets. They usually get forgotten and most shelters will not take pets. Here in Florida they always tell you if you have pets to know which shelters will take them and the requirements. (size limits, crates, etc) Do not forget their medications as well as yours.

Thanks for the info for the animal rescue groups - the animals often seem to be forgotten when it comes to disaster relief. They are out there doing what needs to be done with very limited publicity.

The local churches, restaurants, scout groups, sports teams and others have been wandering our streets in groups stopping in to lend a hand. Some are ripping out water soaked drywall and insulation, carpet and wood flooring, or just putting out the trash. We spent a bundle feeding lunch to about 15 volunteers the first day but after that we have been amazed at the churches and catering vans that have come by. We tell them how many people are working and they give us that number of meals. We have been amazed at the outpouring of love from strangers. Thanks so much!

Thanks for recommending the Food Bank to help Houston's people. But why are there 2 resources to help dogs and only one for people? People count!
