I have also been told by sewing machine repairmen, that you cannot restore a machine that has been in a fire. Have not experienced this first hand but it is a point to consider

Thank you thank you. We share so much about quilting, this too ,is important. After our house fire, for 2mos mom, dad and agent agreed something important was not on the list. as we were moving back in, all 3 had the AHA, it was the washer and dryer. Take pictures of everything NOW and write serial numbers. Put all in the bank safety dep box. Put on an add-on CD and give to someone OOT

Thank you thank you!!!!! We learn so much about quilts, suggestions, share pattern ideas...... We need more sharing about "quilting life". Our house burned (I was in jr hi) the adjuster kept saying there was something important he just could't think of it As we were getting ready to move back in all 3 adults had the aha - no one listed the washer and dryer!! It only takes a fer mins. Take pictures and write serial #s for all. Don't keep in phone! put copies in bank sdbox..

Thank you so much for your advice. Is that your Featherweight? Please tell me you are having her restored. We don't suffer from flood, but we do have wildfires here. The first thing out of my house the first time we were evacuated was a wedding dress I was working on...then as much sewing things as I could save along with pictures and important papers. God bless you.
