I wore dresses similar to these. I really appreciate these women and their fashions as I was in modeling and finishing school in Washington,DC in the 60's. It's too bad the designs aren't as pretty anymore. Some young girls don't care how they look anymore. What I learned I keep with me to this day.

Yes, I made and wore similar gowns as these. They were so pretty and very elegant. I slavishly copied the styles from "Seventeen" magazine, even embroidering panels to match the pictures.

I am 81, growing up in the Caribbean, my dresses as a teenager were made from Vogue fashion magazines by highly skilled Chinese dressmakers, they could copy the fashions perfectly . My two sisters and I were always beautifully dressed outside of our school uniforms. Our mother loved fashion and beautiful clothes and instilled it in her daughters. I still love fashionable clothes.

:-) Since I was married in the mid '50s, the dress I designed and made shows the influence for sure. The bateau neckline, hourglass waist and boufant skirt over many petticoats! Embroidered organdy. And of course with the bows here and there. Memories....
