I retired after 32 years of working. My sewing/quilting room was very small and included the laundry and pantry. My husband had a 24' X 30' building erected behind our home. I have peg board 4' from the ceiling wrapping around the room. He says I deserve it! What a great hubby!

Try not to let money hold you back. As long as you have a space, even if it is small, let yourself be creative and check out thrift stores/garage sales, even freebies on the Internet. You can have a wonderful funky place to work in, just go for it. Good luck. Xox

Hey! The converted garage is MY studio!!!! Cool. The best thing I have ever done - well worth the money. Stepping into my studio signals to me that it is time to create and what more could I ask?

The "she sheds" are really cute and creative but I already have a small space. I do love the sanctuary sitting room with all the stained glass. My favorite would be a smaller version of Pokey's. My other favorite is Anna Maria Horner's. I love the space, it feels welcoming. I like the organization. And I like the white walls.

I have two treadle sewing machines that I now use for end tables, however after seeing the cutting and sewing table my plans have changed. I also have two featherweight sewing machines, one white and one black. I do not have the space but am willing to take over an empty bedroom. What a beautiful room!!!

I have a number of antique treadle sewing machines that I use for end tables, however, after seeing the cutting board/sewing table using these as a base I am going to repurpose them, I also have two featherweight sewing machines so my table will look just like the picture. Love this article

My dream studio is going to have space for dyeing fabric, including a 'skinny mini' washer and dryer. This requires a laundry tub and some countertop to work on immediately adjacent. Having the tub readily available also makes it easier to rinse out fabric to get rid of sizing when this is advantageous. Also, let's see LOTS of storage for fabric. I have a killer stash and insufficient storage.
