I'm still organizing my fabric! I bought 10 wire racks on wheels from Sam's. I rolled most of my fabric and taped a strip of paper around the middle.I sorted mostly by color but some by type ( flannel, knits, wool,etc.). Fabric is falling off open shelves so I have made three sided dust covers for 6 of the racks and 10 inch bands across the front of each shelf held on with velcro for easy access.I still have fabric to roll up but need to finish dust covers and bands.I have one room for storing the racks of fabric and another for my machine and other sewing supplies. I would rather spend my time sewing but glad I'm getting organized.

Great Ideias! I am for sure going to use one of your tips. I also learned a lot about the needles. Thank you!

I use a business card notebook for organizing all my needles. It has enough spaces for 96 cards (packages of needles), holds all types of needles. Card spaces open to the center of notebook, so nothing falls out. I leave my long doll and upholstery needles in it laying lengthwise not in card spaces.

I don't have as many needles as Libby has and use a small box that Ginger scissors came in some years ago. I also use the small (1") sticky dots from Staples and mark the type and number on it and stick it on the box. When using a needle from that box I put the sticky dot on my sewing machine so I know where to put the needle back if I haven't used it long. Works great and I don't have to get the magnifying glass out
