I hung a café curtain rod in my sewing room that stands out from the wall about 2 1/2 inches. I had some large (3 inch across) book binder clamps that I used to put through the hole in each ruler. I am able to put several rulers on each clamp. I also used the "old fashion" clip shower curtain hooks that also work well. For me the binder clamps work better in that you can move the ruler you want to use around until it gets to the clamp. You open the clamp and use the desired ruler. It is not as easy to remove using the shower hooks, but it can be done.

I use two of the wall hung wooden slat ruler holders as well as some long pegs on an organizer grid. My long arm rulers hang on a lovely peg rack my husband made for me. I have long pegs on it and use the Clip It Up clips to hold them. The CIU system includes plastic dividers that hang on the rod that I use to identify each ruler. I works very well! The CIU system clips are sold separately so you don't have to buy the whole system

Don't be afraid to drill holes in rulers that lack them. I use at least a 1/4" drill bit (even with small rulers like corner trimmers). No damage to rulers or drill bit. Occasionally, a metal nail file will be required to remove clinging bits. I hang similar size or shape rulers from long pegs on a peg board. Works great. Takes up much less space than the other solutions.
