I thought this would be so cool for quilts for babies born to my techie friends, but I always put the label on the quilt before it is quilted, so the label is quilted through and can't be removed or altered later. Now I find out that you can't stitch in/on/over the QR code itself, so if I send the quilt out to be quilted by someone else, it's possible the code could be stitched through, and thereby damaged. Turns out not to be such a great idea for me after all.

Margo... As I understand the process... When you place an order you receive four cloth labels that come pre-printed with 'unique-to-you' codes. Then you go to the Story Patches app, choose what information you want to add to your label (to the patch code), and then, to access the information one scans the code with their phone, tablet etc using a 'QR code reader' app (there are many out there and Story Patchs has one too). It sounds complicated, but it's not.

You can purchase labels with the codes at the StoryPatches website - www.storypatches.com. The labels you purchase come pre-printed with your own unique code on a 6" x 4" cotton label. Once you receive your labels, you simply sew them on like any other label.
