Love the comments. Makes me feel my stash is almost manageable. But the idea of a notebook with swatch and project idea is one I may start for next year it's always nice to begin to be more organized

Wow! You ladies are WAY more organized than I could ever be!!! I really don't think I need a fabric swatch notebook. My husband has threatened divorce if I buy one more kit or even a fat quarter of fabric before I do the 26 UFO's I got waiting. (grin!). I don't think he means it. We have been married 51 years and I don't think either of us is going anywhere else. He is beyond a doubt the best thing in my life and a way better spouse than I could ever be, so I will work on the UFO's!!!

Well, this is a good idea, but just more paperwork and stuff to store! I hope an Android version of the quilt program comes out soon. I don't have space for dedicated sewing, and little storage, as well as two cats. I keep my fabric in boxes and bins. But, I have learned to take photos of the contents of the boxes so I know what is actually in them! I keep those on my phone as well as backed up on a computer. It isn't ideal, but it helps.

Yes, I keep a swatch notebook of fabric purchases for household insurance purposes. The minute I return home with fabric I add a swatch to my fabric log. It takes no time at all to snip a sample of fabric, glue it to the log's page with a notation of what the price per yard was, and from whom I made the purchase.

bcole's iPhone app is sweet. Android doesn't have that yet so I take a cell phone pic of each bin of fabric. I fan out my folded fabric in rows with an inch or so showing then replace in the bin with an enlarged printer picture to place in the front of the bin. I can cross off used fabric and add another picture of fabric added. The pictures are on my phone for reference when shopping. I also take a picture of a group of fabrics when I want to find companion fabrics for that quilt. Also Joanns sells clear, light-weight, stacking plastic containers by Darice for scrapbook papers at less than $4.19 (before 50% coupon) and 12x12x2.5 which I like to keep the pattern or book with the fabrics for a future project. Good luck to all

Wonderful idea, that swatch thing! I just know that I will NEVER be that organized!! When I buy fabric, I can't wait to get it home, stroke it a bit, admire it, wonder how I could be so smart as to find that perfect fabric, fold it carefully and place it where I can see it, and it can inspire me! I just know I would not write down all the info, I am always so sure I will Always REMEMBER that great fabric!
