This is a great way to add a sleeve to a wall-hanging, BUT, if you're adding a sleeve in a bedquilt just to hang in a show, you'll want to remove it at sometime, so you don't want to have it under the binding. For those wondering about trimming the batting. I would trim batting to same size as edge of quilt. You do want the binding full with batting, but extra would make it too bulky, I would think .

Don't you finish off the short edges also? I always make the sleeve inside out then turn it right side out so the short edges are finished.

For those that are asking why the width of the quilt... If you look closely at the video, after she hemmed the edges of the sleeve, there is enough clearance for Sharon to completely stitch the binding on without it getting it caught in the adjacent sides stitches. Thanks for the tip... I've learn lots watching your lessons.

Love the tip. I have a question. Why does Sharon leave batting beyond the edge of her quilt?

Hi Sharon Thank you for the great tip. You stated to cut the width the width of the fabric. However I noticed yours wasn't that wide. You have to make it a little smaller then your width so it doesn't get in the seam binding don't you?? Thank you
